WASHINGTON – Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador with ties to the MS-13 gang, has been the subject of recent media attention. Authorities highlight his criminal background, emphasizing his status as a violent offender.
Garcia was arrested while carrying rolls of cash and drugs, along with two other MS-13 members. At the time of his arrest, he wore clothing depicting a known MS-13 symbol. Two judges have confirmed his gang affiliation, a judgment that stands uncontested.
Intelligence reports link Garcia to human trafficking activities. As an illegal immigrant, Garcia cited peril from MS-13's rivals, Barrio-18, as the reason for fearing his return to El Salvador.
Jennifer Vasquez, Garcia's spouse, sought legal protection against him, alleging instances of domestic violence that included physical and emotional harm.
"Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a violent criminal illegal alien and MS-13 gang member," authorities state, advocating for his incarceration and removal from the United States.
