Marc H. Silverman, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that Jonathan Subh-Marcano, a 28-year-old from Waterbury, pleaded guilty in New Haven federal court to possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
Court documents reveal that Subh-Marcano was arrested on August 15, 2024, following a court-authorized search of his residence. Authorities discovered approximately 300 individual bags of fentanyl, roughly 30 grams of crack cocaine, a loaded Polymer 80 "ghost gun," additional ammunition, and over $9,000 in cash.
Subh-Marcano is set to be sentenced on July 1 by U.S. District Judge Robert N. Chatigny in Hartford. He is facing a mandatory minimum prison sentence of five years, with a maximum possible sentence of life imprisonment. He has remained detained since his arrest.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) along with the Waterbury Police Department conducted the investigation. The case prosecution is being managed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Natasha Freismuth as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative focused on reducing violent crime through collaboration and comprehensive strategies. PSN emphasizes enforcement on violent offenders and partners with local prevention and reentry programs to achieve lasting reductions in crime.
