A Honduran national residing in Woburn, Massachusetts, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Boston. The individual, Saul Arce, 38, faces charges related to unlawful reentry into the United States following deportation. The arrest was carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement on March 20, 2025.
The indictment includes one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien. According to the charging document, Arce was deported from the United States on May 15, 2013. It is alleged that he reentered the country illegally without permission after his deportation.
If convicted, Arce faces a potential sentence of up to two years' imprisonment, one year of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. Moreover, he would be subject to deportation following the completion of any imposed sentence. Sentences are determined by a federal district court judge in accordance with U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and applicable statutes.
Announcing the indictment were United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Patricia H. Hyde, Field Office Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston. Assistant U.S. Attorney Allegra Flamm of the Major Crimes Unit is leading the prosecution.
As in all such cases, the allegations remain just that until proven in court. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
