During National Park Week, the nation will honor the beauty and history maintained within national parks. The week will kick off with a ceremony marking the 250th anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, recognized at Minute Man National Historical Park in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Ceremonies and tactical demonstrations will pay homage to the patriots who initiated a movement for freedom.

President Donald J. Trump stated, "As President, I have taken action to restore names to our parks that honor American greatness — including returning Mount McKinley to its rightful name." President Trump also announced the National Garden of American Heroes, a new monument to honor 250 American figures who exemplified virtues aligned with national ideals.

The President emphasized the role of national parks as sources of inspiration, education, and recreation. Since Yellowstone National Park was established as the first national park in 1872, over 400 park sites of national importance have been designated. These parks attract millions of visitors yearly due to their historical and cultural significance.

President Trump affirmed the commitment to preserve these symbols of American history for future generations. He proclaimed, "I encourage all Americans to celebrate our national parks by learning more about the natural and historical heritage that belongs to each and every citizen of the United States of America."

National Park Week will run from April 19 through April 27, 2025.
