Guatemalan man sentenced for meth distribution in Iowa

A Guatemalan man was sentenced to over 12 years in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy in Dubuque, Iowa. Jose Eleazar Aceves-Garcia, aged 30, admitted guilt on November 20, 2024, to charges of conspiracy to distribute significant quantities of methamphetamine.

According to court documents, Aceves-Garcia was involved in the distribution of at least 400 pounds of ice methamphetamine from January 2019 to January 2022. His fingerprints were found on two packages containing over seven pounds of ice methamphetamine, which he had sent to an associate in Dubuque. Additionally, Aceves-Garcia distributed a kilogram of heroin to the same co-conspirator.

He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute at least 500 grams of a methamphetamine mixture and 50 grams of pure methamphetamine, leading to his sentencing.
