New England Village Foods has issued a recall for their "19th Hole Snack Mix" due to undeclared almonds in their products, posing a risk to those with almond allergies. These products are available in 5-ounce and 10-ounce sizes and have been distributed across several regions, including New England, New York, and Pennsylvania.
This snack mix is packaged in clear cups and tubs with re-closable lids. Consumers can identify the recalled products by checking the UPC codes: 609465693477 for the 5-ounce size and 642147152459 for the 10-ounce size. Both UPC codes are printed in black ink on the lid.
The recall came after a customer found almonds in a package where the nuts were not listed among the ingredients. An investigation revealed the issue resulted from a temporary packaging process breakdown. So far, no illnesses have been reported.
In response to the issue, "...the recall was initiated after a customer discovered that the almond-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of almonds." The company also mentioned that "subsequent investigation indicates the issue was caused by a temporary breakdown in the companies packaging process."
New England Village Foods has suspended production of "19th Hole Snack Mix" while addressing the problem. Customers who have purchased these products are advised to return them for a full refund. Those with questions or concerns can reach out to New England Village Foods at 1.603.554.1873, Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 4 PM Eastern.
