On May 8, Secretary of the Treasury Scott K.H. Bessent is set to travel to Switzerland. The visit aims to engage in discussions that could influence international economic relations.

“Economic security is national security, and President Donald J. Trump is leading the way both at home and abroad for a stronger, more prosperous America,” stated Secretary Bessent. He expressed anticipation for "productive talks as we work towards rebalancing the international economic system towards better serving the interests of the United States."

While in Switzerland, Secretary Bessent will meet with President Karin Keller-Sutter. This meeting will serve as a follow-up to their recent encounter during the World Bank Group (WBG) – International Monetary Fund (IMF) Spring Meetings.

Additionally, Secretary Bessent plans to meet with China's lead representative on economic matters from the People’s Republic of China (PRC).
