Jamie Greer Spies, a 24-year-old resident of Reading, Pennsylvania, has been arrested and charged with distributing child sexual abuse materials. The arrest took place on May 2, 2025. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin Jr., FBI Special Agent in Chief Sean Ryan of the Washington Field Office Criminal and Cyber Division, and Chief Pamela Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
Spies faces charges related to the distribution of child pornography. Court documents reveal that an undercover officer from the MPD-FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force was monitoring an online group where individuals exchanged images and videos of underage children. Spies allegedly contacted the undercover officer expressing interest in images depicting the sexual abuse of young children.
The investigation found that Spies distributed multiple images and videos showing the sexual abuse of children, including infants and toddlers. The case is being handled by the MPD-FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force with assistance from the FBI’s Philadelphia Field Office, Allentown Resident Agency. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jocelyn Bond is prosecuting the case.
This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative launched in February 2006 to combat online exploitation and abuse of children. Led by U.S. Attorney's Offices nationwide, Project Safe Childhood coordinates federal, state, and local resources to apprehend individuals exploiting children via the Internet while also identifying and rescuing victims.
