The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has announced the cancellation of $13.6 million in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) grants by the U.S. Department of Labor, leading to $8.4 million in savings.

According to a post on X, DOGE detailed several grants that were part of this cancellation. These included $716,000 allocated for "DEIA materials, training modules, and support networks," $398,000 for "gender equity awareness training," and $350,000 for initiatives targeting "migrant sending or receiving communities."

An April 2025 Harvard-Harris Poll indicates that 69% of voters support "undertaking a full-scale effort to find and eliminate fraud and waste in government expenditures," while 31% favor reducing government spending by $1 trillion. Additionally, a majority believe the U.S. should aim to balance its budget by reducing expenditures and conducting a comprehensive review of current spending.
