Memphis man charged over fatal fentanyl overdoses

Reagan T. Fondren Acting United States Attorney for the Western District Of Tennessee | U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee

Joseph C. Murphy, Jr., the Interim United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee, has announced the indictment of Darian Glover, aged 28. Glover faces charges related to the distribution of fentanyl, which allegedly resulted in three fatalities. The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) alongside the Collierville Police Department.

Special Agent in Charge Jim Scott, leading the DEA’s Louisville Division, expressed condolences to the families affected by this incident. "Our hearts go out to the victims’ families in this tragic case," he stated. He emphasized that "Fentanyl is a scourge plaguing America," and assured that "the dedicated men and women of the Drug Enforcement Administration will stop at nothing to rid this poison from our communities."

Chief Dale Lane of the Collierville Police Department acknowledged their cooperation with federal authorities: “We appreciate the partnership we have with the DEA,” he said. Lane highlighted the importance of collaboration among law enforcement agencies to tackle illegal fentanyl distribution.

The federal grand jury issued an indictment against Glover on April 10, 2025. It alleges that on June 21, 2024, Glover distributed fentanyl leading to three deaths. If convicted, Glover could face a prison sentence ranging from 20 years to life without parole in the federal system. Additionally, there is potential for a fine up to $1 million and at least three years of supervised release following incarceration.

Assistant United States Attorney Wendy K. Cornejo is prosecuting this case. It is important to note that all charges are accusations and do not constitute evidence of guilt; Glover remains presumed innocent unless proven otherwise through due legal process.

In determining any sentence upon conviction, factors such as prior criminal records (if any), role in the offense, and specifics of the violation will be considered by the Court.
