A Las Vegas man, Aerion Warmsley, appeared in court on Tuesday before United States Magistrate Judge Daniel J. Albregts. He faces charges for allegedly committing multiple violent armed carjackings.
The indictment outlines that on March 24, 2025, Warmsley used a Taurus 9mm firearm to steal a Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 through force and intimidation, resulting in the victim sustaining a fractured nose. Subsequently, on March 27, 2025, he is accused of using the same firearm to forcibly take a Mercedes-Benz GL450. While evading law enforcement, Warmsley reportedly hit two pedestrians with the vehicle. One pedestrian suffered a brain bleed and multiple fractures; the other sustained multiple fractures. On that same day, Warmsley allegedly stole a Kia Sorrento using similar methods.
Warmsley has been charged with two counts of carjacking causing serious bodily injury, three counts of brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and one count of carjacking. A jury trial is set for July 14, 2025, before United States District Judge Gloria M. Navarro.
If found guilty, Warmsley could face life imprisonment as per statutory penalties. The sentence will be determined by a federal district court judge who will consider U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Sigal Chattah for the District of Nevada along with Special Agent in Charge Spencer L. Evans from the FBI Las Vegas Division.
This case involves an investigation conducted by several law enforcement agencies including the FBI, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, North Las Vegas Police Department, Henderson Police Department, and Clark County School District Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Edward Penetar is handling prosecution duties.
It is important to note that an indictment is merely an allegation and all defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt in court.
