A Texarkana resident, Deablo Deshon Lewis, has been convicted of federal drug trafficking offenses in the Eastern District of Texas. The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Abe McGlothin, Jr.
Lewis, aged 34, was found guilty by a jury on charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl, methamphetamine, and marijuana. He was also convicted of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. The verdict followed a three-day trial before U.S. District Judge Robert W. Schroeder III on May 15, 2025.
Court records indicate that Lewis was apprehended on April 1, 2021, in Texarkana, Arkansas after he agreed to sell 150 counterfeit oxycontin "M-30" pills to another individual. Following his arrest, Lewis admitted to having marijuana at his residence in Texarkana, Texas. A search warrant led officers to discover over 2,800 counterfeit "M-30" pills containing fentanyl and over 700 "ecstasy" pills containing methamphetamine among other drugs and firearms.
In February 2022, while released on bond, authorities stopped a vehicle leaving a suspected drug transaction involving Lewis. The occupant confirmed purchasing counterfeit "M-30" pills from him. Subsequent searches revealed additional fake "M-30" pills with fentanyl and more ecstasy pills containing methamphetamine.
Lewis could face up to 40 years in federal prison upon sentencing. However, the actual sentence will be determined by the court based on advisory guidelines and statutory factors after a presentence investigation by the U.S. Probation Office is completed.
The case was investigated by multiple law enforcement agencies including the Texarkana Police Departments from both Texas and Arkansas, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), U.S. Postal Inspection Service as well as sheriff's offices from Bowie County and Miller County in Arkansas. Prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Ryan Locker, Lauren Richards, and Jonathan Hornok.
