U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported Jesus Vazquez Daniel, a 59-year-old accused murderer, back to Mexico. Vazquez had been evading authorities for two decades after allegedly committing murder in Hidalgo, Mexico on October 1, 2004.

ICE officials transferred Vazquez from the Montgomery Processing Center in Conroe to the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge Port of Entry in Laredo, where he was handed over to Mexican authorities. Bret Bradford, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Houston Field Office Director, stated, “For the past 20 years, this accused murderer evaded authorities while the family of his alleged victim was forced to wait patiently praying that justice might one day be served.” He credited the teamwork and persistence of ICE officers from both Dallas and Houston for bringing an end to this long-standing case.

Vazquez entered the United States illegally at an unspecified time and location. On July 18, 2024, ERO Dallas informed ERO Houston about Vazquez's potential illegal residency in Hillsboro. A subsequent investigation by ERO Houston’s Waco office confirmed his presence there and identified an open warrant for his arrest in Mexico. ICE officers arrested Vazquez on February 2 with assistance from the Hill County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. He was then taken to the Montgomery Processing Center on February 3 for immigration proceedings.

On May 13, an immigration judge ordered his removal to Mexico.
