A Fort Collins man has been charged with bank robbery involving forced accompaniment, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado. Isaac Meraz, 21, was accused of robbing the Ent Credit Union on Drake Road in Fort Collins on May 27, 2025.

The criminal complaint states that around 2:00 p.m., Meraz entered the credit union wearing a full rubber mask with fake hair. He reportedly approached several employees claiming he was there to "audit" the bank. Meraz allegedly used what appeared to be a handgun to force three employees into the bank's vault. One employee, intimidated by Meraz pointing the apparent handgun at them, handed over money from the vault. During his escape, Meraz dropped some money and what turned out to be a realistic-looking BB gun. He was arrested shortly after outside the credit union.

Meraz made his initial court appearance on May 30, 2025, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Cyrus Y. Chung.

"The charges in the complaint are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt," stated authorities.

The Federal Bureau of Investigations Denver Field Office and Fort Collins Police Services are investigating this case. Assistant United States Attorney Brian Dunn is handling the prosecution.
