The U.S. Department of Labor has reached a settlement with Adidas America Inc., mandating the company to pay $235,000 in penalties and implement improved safety measures across several facilities. This agreement follows an inspection by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) at an Adidas warehouse in upstate New York.

In 2021, OSHA cited Adidas for safety violations, including missing guardrails and an unsafe ladder. A follow-up inspection in 2024 revealed that these issues had not been resolved, and an additional unsafe ladder violation was identified.

The settlement, finalized on May 30, 2025, obliges Adidas to enhance safety protocols at its locations in New York, New Jersey, and Puerto Rico. The company will adopt a comprehensive Safety and Health Management program, retrain employees on fall hazards, assess potential fall risks at each facility, and cease using overhead storage.

Adidas America Inc., a subsidiary of the global athletic apparel giant Adidas AG based in Herzogenaurach, Germany, agreed to the financial penalty as part of the settlement.

OSHA provides resources on its Warehousing page to prevent injuries related to forklifts, slips, trips and falls. Additionally, their stop falls website offers educational materials in English and Spanish about fall hazards and proper safety procedures.
