Kenneth Dawson, a 47-year-old resident of Oxon Hill, Maryland, has been sentenced to 60 months in federal prison. The sentencing took place today at the U.S. District Court following his involvement in distributing significant quantities of liquid PCP and fentanyl.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro, Special Agent in Charge Ibrar A. Mian of the Drug Enforcement Administration Washington Division, and Chief Pamela Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department.

Dawson entered a guilty plea on February 28, 2025, for one count of distribution of fentanyl and another count involving over 100 grams of a liquid mixture containing PCP.

Court documents revealed that between June and November 2024, Dawson conducted seven transactions involving liquid PCP or fentanyl with confidential informants or an undercover officer near the intersection of 16th Street SE and Marion Barry Avenue SE.

On June 27, 2024, Dawson sold 102 grams of liquid PCP for $800 and $100 worth of powdered fentanyl to a confidential informant. Similar transactions were recorded on six other occasions through November 2024, including selling 97 fentanyl pills.

Law enforcement arrested Dawson on December 13, 2024, at his residence in Oxon Hill. A federal search warrant led to the discovery of additional liquid PCP, paraphernalia related to PCP use, and a loaded large-capacity firearm magazine in his bedroom. Federal law prohibits Dawson from possessing ammunition.

The case was investigated collaboratively by the DEA Washington Division, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Metropolitan Police Department, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas G. Strong and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren R. Randell are prosecuting the case.
