National Farmers Union (NFU) has wrapped up its 2025 All-States Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. The event culminated with the announcement of new members elected to the National Youth Advisory Council (NYAC).
The newly elected NYAC members include Ruby Sheaffer from Wisconsin Farmers Union, Larahmy Blakley from Oklahoma Farmers Union, and Patrick Olson, Madi Raymond, and Brandon Toennies from South Dakota Farmers Union. These individuals will serve one-year terms.
NFU President Rob Larew expressed enthusiasm about the summit's success: “NFU was proud to welcome the next generation of farmers and policy leaders to Washington, a program first for the All-States Leadership Summit.” He emphasized the importance of NYAC's role in shaping agriculture's future: “Our NYAC represents the future of family farming, ranching and rural advocacy. Their voices, ideas and energy are vital to shaping a stronger future for agriculture, and we are thrilled to have them serve in this role in the year ahead.”
The NYAC is chosen annually at the All-States Leadership Summit through a competitive application process. It aims to represent thousands of Farmers Union youth nationwide. Members collaborate with education staff during NFU’s Annual Convention, assist in planning subsequent summits, and engage in leadership projects within their states.
The All-States Leadership Summit gathers students and young adults nationwide for networking opportunities and learning experiences with agricultural industry professionals. The summit includes an immersive educational experience focusing on policy advocacy, professional development, and leadership.
