Baltimore man receives over eight-year sentence for fentanyl distribution

Donald McDuffin Williams, a 50-year-old resident of Baltimore, Maryland, has been sentenced to 104 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. The sentencing took place in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Court documents and statements reveal that Williams was linked to a fentanyl sale that led to an overdose. A subsequent search of his residence uncovered significant amounts of cocaine base, fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and cash. The fentanyl was found packaged for distribution. Williams' criminal record includes charges such as assault, battery, firearms violations, robbery, theft, and sex trafficking.

Following his prison term, Williams will undergo three years of supervised release. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Omps-Botteicher on behalf of the government.

The investigation was conducted by the Eastern Panhandle Drug Task Force, which is funded by HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas). U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh presided over the proceedings.
