The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) provided further details about recent arrests made by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Los Angeles. These arrests, part of an ongoing operation, took place on June 8 amidst violent riots and assaults on ICE officers.

“These heinous criminals, including child abusers and pedophiles, are some of the illegal aliens arrested yesterday in Los Angeles. Why do Governor Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass care more about violent criminal illegal aliens than they do about protecting their own citizens?” stated Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “These rioters in Los Angeles are fighting to keep rapists, murderers, and other violent criminals loose on Los Angeles streets. Instead of rioting, they should be thanking ICE officers who every single day wake up and make our communities safer.”

Among those arrested was Eswin Uriel Castro, a previously deported individual with convictions for child molestation and being armed with a dangerous weapon. He has also faced charges for robbery and domestic violence.

Anastacio Enrique Solis-Salinas from Nicaragua was also detained. His record includes convictions for domestic violence and hit-and-run incidents, along with an arrest for willful cruelty to a child.

Rafael Gamez-Sanchez was apprehended with a conviction for vehicular manslaughter.

Miguel Angel Palafox-Montes faces multiple convictions including grand theft, narcotics violations, identity theft, battery, and burglary. He has been voluntarily returned to Mexico twice before.

Lastly, Dzhakhar Aslambekov from Russia was arrested for fraud related to Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards used in government assistance programs.

The operation continues as ICE aims to address issues related to illegal immigration while facing criticism from local politicians and protesters.
