A Guatemalan national residing unlawfully in Lynn has been sentenced for illegal reentry into the United States. Domingo Valentin Solis-De Leon, 29, received a six-month prison sentence and one year of supervised release from U.S. District Court Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton in Boston. Upon completing his sentence, he will face deportation proceedings.
Solis-De Leon pleaded guilty on April 8, 2025, to one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien. He was previously arrested by United States Border Patrol near Hidalgo, Texas on January 8, 2014, after entering the country illegally and was subsequently deported back to Guatemala.
On January 6, 2024, immigration authorities discovered Solis-De Leon's presence in the United States following his arrest in Lynn for state charges of assault and battery on a family or household member. This case is still pending in Lynn District Court. After being released from state custody, Solis-De Leon was arrested by immigration authorities on January 28, 2025.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Patricia H. Hyde, Field Office Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston. Assistant U.S. Attorney Luke A. Goldworm from the Major Crimes Unit is prosecuting the case.
