House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer, along with other Republican members, is investigating Neville Singham, a U.S. billionaire allegedly linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The inquiry focuses on his financial and political activities that may be connected to ongoing riots in Los Angeles and the far-left organization Code Pink.
The lawmakers have sent a letter to Mr. Singham requesting documents about his funding of the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), which has reportedly been involved in organizing nationwide protests, including those in Los Angeles. They also wrote to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi seeking information about investigations into Mr. Singham under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) and other federal laws.
“It has been reported that Mr. Singham is ‘the main backer behind’ the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), which has organized nationwide protests, including the Los Angeles riots," stated the lawmakers. According to reports from The New York Times, Mr. Singham resides in China and supports entities like Code Pink that oppose U.S. interests.
The PSL is reportedly affiliated with destructive protests across the United States and with the Chinese government. Mr. Singham's network allegedly includes pro-CCP organizations such as National Students for Justice in Palestine, International People’s Assembly, and ANSWER Coalition.
“These reports suggest that Mr. Singham may have acted as an agent for the CCP,” concluded the lawmakers. They requested a briefing on steps being taken by DOJ against CCP influence operations in the U.S.
