Senate Commerce Committee schedules executive session to consider nominations and legislation

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, will lead a full committee Executive Session on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. ET. The session will address several nominations and legislative items.

The agenda includes consideration of Harry Kumar from New York for Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs, Joyce Meyer from Virginia for Under Secretary of Commerce for Economic Affairs, and Seval Oz from California for Assistant Secretary of Transportation for Research and Technology.

Legislation to be discussed includes the National STEM Week Act (S. 1070), Integrated Ocean Observation System Reauthorization Act of 2025 (S. 2126), Digital Coast Act (S. 2245), Young Fishermen’s Development Extension Act (S. 2357), Global Investment in American Jobs Act of 2025 (S. 2563), Foreign Robocall Elimination Act (S. 2666), and the PIPELINE Safety Act of 2025.
