Connor Milhorn, aged 20, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison by U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock for driving under the influence and manslaughter on the Natchez Trace Parkway. Milhorn had previously pled guilty to charges of Aggravated DUI resulting in death and serious bodily injury to a minor child.
The incident occurred on May 11, 2024, when National Park Service Rangers responded to a collision between a Hummer H3 and a Toyota Tundra. The driver of the Tundra was found deceased at the scene, while his minor child sustained severe injuries and was airlifted to Memphis, Tennessee for medical treatment.
Investigations revealed that Milhorn was driving his Hummer at high speed under the influence of alcohol when he collided head-on with the Tundra. This resulted in both fatality and injury.
U.S. Attorney Clay Joyner commented on the case stating, "No sentence can replace what was taken from the victim’s family in this matter by the selfish actions of the defendant who chose to drink and drive." He praised the efforts of law enforcement officers involved in securing justice.
U.S. Park Ranger Josh McDonald highlighted the collaboration between federal and state authorities leading to this conviction. He expressed condolences to the Langford family and emphasized ongoing dedication to prosecuting those endangering public safety through impaired driving.
The case was investigated by Natchez Trace Parkway Law Enforcement Rangers with prosecution led by Assistant U.S. Attorney John Herzog Jr.
