The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have initiated Industry Day events to engage companies in developing a new air traffic control system. This initiative, announced by Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy, aims to modernize the U.S. airspace with advanced technology and improved safety measures.

The event follows the FAA's recent Request for Information, which seeks an integrator to lead this significant modernization project. Secretary Duffy emphasized the importance of collaboration with top innovators and companies to enhance safety, reduce delays, and provide a reliable system for air traffic controllers.

"We are at a moment in time where we can truly make a difference in our air traffic control system by building it brand new," said Secretary Duffy. He expressed gratitude to industry leaders for their participation and highlighted the need for critical feedback to ensure the project's success.

FAA Acting Administrator Chris Rocheleau also addressed the event, stating, "We’re all here today as part of a commitment to take bold steps to build a new world-class air traffic control system." He emphasized that the new system would prioritize safety and innovation while preparing for future challenges.
