House Homeland Security Committee schedules oversight hearing with CISA, TSA, S&T leaders

The House Committee on Homeland Security, chaired by Andrew R. Garbarino (R-NY), has scheduled an oversight hearing to review the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and Science and Technology Directorate (S&T). The hearing will take place on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM EST in the Cannon House Office Building.

Chairman Garbarino emphasized the importance of the upcoming session given current security challenges. "Today, our civilian and government networks, transportation systems, and critical infrastructure face an increasingly complex and dangerous threat environment driven by sophisticated adversaries, emerging technology, expiring federal authorities, and persistent bureaucratic inefficiencies. Twenty-five years after 9/11 and as America prepares to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympics, the stakes have never been higher. Close coordination between Congress and the Trump administration, as well as strong alignment across DHS, is essential to ensure we can deter, disrupt, and respond to evolving threats to the homeland. I look forward to strengthening this Committee’s partnership with CISA, TSA, and S&T leadership so we can better support each of their core missions and safeguard the systems Americans rely on every day."

Witnesses scheduled for testimony include Dr. Madhu Gottumukkala, Acting Director of CISA; Ms. Ha Nguyen McNeill, Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Administrator for TSA; and Mr. Pedro Allende, Under Secretary for S&T.

The hearing will be open to both the public and press. It will also be livestreamed on YouTube. Credentialed members of the press are required to RSVP in advance.
