New Orleans woman receives probation for drug-related offenses

Kianna Scott, a 24-year-old resident of New Orleans, has been sentenced following her guilty plea to charges under the Federal Controlled Substances Act. On June 10, 2025, Scott was sentenced to five years probation and required to pay a $100 mandatory special assessment fee. The charges involved using a communication facility for distributing and possessing with intent to distribute fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine.

Court documents revealed that Scott used a telephone to aid another individual in distributing narcotics within the Eastern District of Louisiana.

The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration's New Orleans Field Division Office. It received assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies including the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, Saint Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, Saint John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office, Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Harahan Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Lynn E. Schiffman of the Narcotics Unit is handling the prosecution.
