Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem has released a National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin, highlighting an elevated threat environment in the United States due to the country's involvement in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran. Despite this heightened alert, officials report there are no specific credible threats against the homeland at present.
Secretary Noem emphasized the department's responsibility to maintain national safety and awareness during periods of international conflict. "It is our duty to keep the nation safe and informed, especially during times of conflict," she stated. She noted that the Israel-Iran conflict could potentially lead to increased risks such as cyberattacks, acts of violence, and antisemitic hate crimes.
The NTAS Bulletin is set to expire on September 22, 2025. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activities or threats of violence to local law enforcement agencies, FBI Field Offices, or nearby Fusion Centers.
