Senator Ernst honors Acorn Bluff Farms as small business of the week

U.S. Senator Joni Ernst has named Acorn Bluff Farms of Louisa County as her Small Business of the Week. As Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, Ernst intends to highlight a small business from each of Iowa's 99 counties during the 119th Congress.

"Since 2016, Acorn Bluff Farms has proven they have the chops to deliver premium pork products directly to folks across Iowa," said Chair Ernst. "The Todd brothers are truly bringing home the bacon with their signature Mangalitsa pork, which continues to earn high praise for its exceptional quality."

Acorn Bluff Farms was established in 2016 by Seth Todd, while he was on active duty in the Marine Corps, and his brother Kenan. The farm is located on a historic 200-year-old homestead in Columbus Junction. The Todd brothers specialize in raising Mangalitsa pigs, a breed renowned for its rich fattiness and complex flavor profile, often referred to as the Kobe of pork.

The farm sells various pork products such as boar sausage, chorizo, bacon, and pork chops through farmers markets and an online storefront managed by another brother, Jared. This family-run and veteran-owned business continues to expand by offering high-quality locally raised pork both within Iowa and nationwide.

Senator Ernst plans to continue recognizing other small businesses across Iowa with her Small Business of the Week award.
