Abdiaziz Farah, previously convicted of fraud in the Feeding Our Future trial, has entered a guilty plea for attempting to bribe a juror in the same case. Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson announced this development.
The trial took place on April 22, 2024, under U.S. District Judge Nancy E. Brasel, involving seven defendants connected to the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme. During the proceedings, Farah conspired with Abdimajid Nur and Said Farah, along with Abdulkarim Farah and Ladan Ali, to bribe a juror for a not guilty verdict.
Acting U.S. Attorney Thompson remarked on the gravity of the situation: "The attempted bribery of a Feeding Our Future juror sent shockwaves throughout Minnesota." He added that Farah and his co-conspirators aimed to manipulate the verdict but were thwarted by Juror 52's integrity and law enforcement's efforts.
Special Agent Alvin M. Winston Sr. of FBI Minneapolis stated, “Juror bribery is an attack on the integrity of our justice system.” He emphasized that such actions undermine legal principles and pledged continued efforts to protect judicial processes.
Court documents revealed that after identifying Juror 52 as their target, surveillance was conducted at their residence by one conspirator. Ladan Ali was recruited to deliver the bribe money after Farah coordinated fund collection through encrypted messaging with his brother Said Farah.
On June 2, 2024, Abdimajid Nur collected the bribe money from Bushra Wholesalers as instructed by Abdiaziz Farah. However, due to trust issues with Ali and concerns about Juror 52’s compliance, Abdulkarim Farah recorded her delivering the bribe at Juror 52’s house.
Ali handed over a gift bag containing cash while promising more if Juror 52 acquitted them. The transaction was captured on video by Abdulkarim Farah who then shared it with Abdiaziz Farah; he subsequently forwarded it to Said with instructions to “watch and delete.”
The next day in court, when prosecutors exposed the bribery attempt, Abdiaziz reset his iPhone to erase evidence before surrendering it upon Judge Nancy Brasel’s order.
Farah pleaded guilty on June 17, 2025, before Judge David S. Doty for bribing a juror; sentencing will follow later.
This investigation involved collaboration between FBI agents alongside IRS – Criminal Investigations officers, U.S Postal Inspection Service personnel as well as Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension officials.
Prosecution is being led by Acting U.S Attorney Joseph H.Thompson together with Assistant U.S Attorneys Matthew S.Ebert,Harry M.Jacobs, and Daniel W.Bobier.
