Michele Beckwith Acting U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of California
Sadie Bramlette, a 28-year-old resident of Sacramento, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges related to the distribution of controlled substances, including fentanyl. This was announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Michele Beckwith.
Court documents reveal that between January 2023 and January 2025, Bramlette and her partner in drug trafficking, Dejian Johl, 27, from Merced, advertised drugs for sale on social media platforms and dark web marketplaces. The drugs included fentanyl, methamphetamine, Ecstasy, LSD, ketamine, heroin, crack cocaine, cocaine, Adderall, Xanax, promethazine, Soma and OxyContin. As part of their operation's logistics, Johl handled customer orders and payments before coordinating with Bramlette to send the packages through the United States Postal Service.
In her guilty plea agreement, Bramlette consented to forfeit over $100,000 worth of cash and luxury items bought with drug money during their conspiracy period. It was disclosed that Johl made at least 1,350 transfers to Bramlette’s Cash App account; most were drug-related proceeds or funds facilitating their operations.
Bramlette is the second individual involved in this case who has pleaded guilty to distributing drugs via dark web platforms and social media sites. Her co-conspirator Johl entered a guilty plea last week for similar charges.
The investigation leading to these charges was conducted by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason Hitt is responsible for prosecuting this case.
Johl is scheduled for sentencing on September 22nd before U.S. District Judge William B. Shubb while Bramlette will face sentencing on September 29th. Both defendants could receive a maximum statutory penalty of up to 20 years imprisonment alongside a $1 million fine; however actual sentences will be decided based on court discretion after reviewing applicable statutory factors along with Federal Sentencing Guidelines which consider various factors.
