The U.S. Department of State's Rewards for Justice (RFJ) program has announced a reward of up to $5 million for information leading to the location, recovery, and safe return of Mahmood Shah Habibi. Habibi, an American businessman, was abducted in Afghanistan on August 10, 2022. He was taken along with his driver from his vehicle in Kabul by the Taliban’s General Directorate of Intelligence while working as a consultant for a telecommunications firm based in Kabul. Since his initial arrest, there has been no communication regarding his whereabouts or condition.
