President Donald J. Trump and Secretary Noem have announced the appointment of new members to the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC) and scheduled the council's first meeting.
The HSAC, established on March 19, 2002, aims to utilize the expertise and connections of its members to provide independent advice on homeland security operations. The upcoming iteration of the council is described as an "America First" HSAC, focusing on public and private sector experience aligned with President Trump's agenda.
The initial meeting is set for July 2, 2025, at the Department of Homeland Security headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The appointed members are as follows:
- Henry McMaster, Governor of South Carolina, will serve as Chair.
- Joseph Gruters, State Senator from Florida, is named Vice Chair.
- Marc Andreessen is a Co-Founder and General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz.
- David Chesnoff is an Attorney at Chesnoff and Schonfeld.
- Christopher “Chris” Cox founded Bikers for Trump.
- Mark Dannels serves as Cochise County Sheriff in Arizona.
- Richard “Bo” Dietl is CEO and Founder of Beau Dietl & Associates.
- Matthew Flynn is an Attorney at Steptoe and a former Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense.
- Rudolph W. Giuliani is a Former Mayor of New York City.
- Harvey C. Jewett IV has retired from roles including President of Super 8 Motels Inc., President and COO of Rivett Group LLC., and currently presides over Great Plains Education Foundation, Inc.
- Steve Kirby is a Founding Partner at Bluestem Capital Company.
- Mark Levin works as a Broadcast News Analyst for The Mark Levin Show.
- Corey Lewandowski serves as Chief Advisor to the Secretary at DHS.
- Nicholas Luna holds positions as Assistant to the President and Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Implementation at The White House.
- George Lund operates as CEO and Chairman at Torch Hill Investment Partners.
- Edward McMullen Jr. acts as Senior Policy Advisor at Adams and Reese LLP., having previously served as Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
- Georgette Mosbacher co-chairs Three Seas Programming within Atlantic Council’s Europe Center; she was formerly Ambassador to Poland.
- James “Jim” Pallotta manages partnerships through The Raptor Group which he founded.
- Omar Qudrat leads Maden as CEO while founding Muslim Coalition for America; he also serves in the U.S. Army Reserve with Major rank.
- Stephen Sloan heads Global Private Market Secondaries for Portfolio Advisors after co-founding Cogent Partners
- Robert “Bob” Smith previously represented New Hampshire in the U.S Senate
- Alexei Woltornist presides over ATHOS following his tenure as Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs under DHS
