A federal grand jury in Toledo, Ohio, has indicted Anthony Emmanuel Labrador-Sierra, a 24-year-old Venezuelan national residing in Perrysburg, Ohio. The indictment includes charges of possession of a firearm by an alien unlawfully in the United States, making a false statement during the purchase of a firearm, and making or using false writings or documents.

The indictment alleges that Labrador-Sierra submitted a false date of birth to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on applications for Temporary Protective Status and Employment Authorization Documents in 2024 and 2025.

The initial criminal complaint filed on May 22, 2025, revealed that Perrysburg Schools reported to the Perrysburg Police Department about Labrador-Sierra's enrollment under false pretenses as he attended Perrysburg High School while being a 24-year-old man.

The grand jury further charges that Labrador-Sierra possessed a Taurus G3C 9mm semiautomatic pistol without lawful status to purchase or own it in the United States. He allegedly provided false information on ATF Form 4473 to acquire the firearm. Among these alleged misrepresentations were claims that he was a U.S. citizen or national, not illegally in the United States, and not an alien who entered under a nonimmigrant visa.

If convicted, Labrador-Sierra could face up to 15 years for possession of a firearm by an alien; up to 10 years for making a false statement during the purchase; and up to five years for making or using false writings or documents.

This case is being investigated by multiple agencies including the City of Perrysburg Police Department, United States Border Patrol−Sandusky Bay Station, FBI Toledo Field Office, and ATF with support from Wood County Prosecutor’s Office. It is prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Robert N. Melching and Tracey Tangeman for the Northern District of Ohio along with Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Dobson.

The investigation remains ongoing. Individuals with information are encouraged to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or visit fbi.gov/tips.
