A North Versailles resident has been sentenced to over 10 years in federal prison for firearm possession as a convicted felon. Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti announced that Keion Washington, 25, received a sentence of 121 months imprisonment followed by three years of supervised release.
United States District Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand handed down the sentence. The court was informed that on February 7, 2024, Washington was involved in an incident where he drove a vehicle linked to a previous event. When law enforcement attempted to stop him, Washington fled both by car and on foot. Officers later discovered a stolen rifle loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition in the vehicle.
Judge Wiegand noted that the sentencing considered the nature of the offense and Washington's criminal history, which includes two prior felony convictions related to controlled substances.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys DeMarr W. Moulton and Jacqueline C. Brown. Acting United States Attorney Rivetti praised the efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Pittsburgh Bureau of Police for their roles in investigating and successfully prosecuting Washington.
