Damon Middleton, 32, and Michael Alston, 27, both from the District of Columbia, have been ordered to be held without bond following their arrests for armed kidnapping and carjacking. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.

Court documents reveal that on May 9, 2025, a male victim was attacked while parking his Dodge Caravan at his home in the District. The attackers hit him on the head and demanded money. One suspect allegedly took the victim's keys and ransacked his apartment.

The two men then drove the victim in his own vehicle to various ATMs in Maryland to withdraw funds from his CashApp and bank accounts. They left the victim zip-tied in Hyattsville, Maryland, before driving off with his vehicle. Authorities later found the burned remains of the Dodge Caravan within the District.

Middleton and Alston face charges including federal kidnapping and transportation of a stolen vehicle. They also face District of Columbia charges for armed carjacking and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.

The case is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department along with the FBI Washington Field Office’s Violent Crimes Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Sabena Auyeung and Mark Levy are prosecuting.
