The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has announced that Angel Urbina-Ramirez, a 53-year-old Mexican national, pleaded guilty to unlawful reentry of a removed alien. The charge is punishable by up to ten years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
The case originated from an investigation conducted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division. The indictment stated that Urbina-Ramirez was found in the United States on June 13, 2025, after having been previously removed on January 30, 2018. He had not obtained the required consent from the Secretary of Homeland Security to reapply for admission.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration and dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations. It involves resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces and Project Safe Neighborhood.
U.S. Magistrate Judge D. Edward Snow accepted Urbina-Ramirez's plea and ordered a presentence investigation report. A U.S. District Court Judge will later determine his sentence based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
Urbina-Ramirez remains in custody with the United States Marshals Service while awaiting sentencing. Assistant U.S. Attorney Dak T. Cohen represented the United States in this case.
