A man from Akron, Ohio, has been sentenced to 46 months in federal prison for his role in methamphetamine trafficking. The sentence was announced by Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.
Charles Woods, aged 67, received the sentence from United States District Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand. Court documents revealed that Woods was identified as a methamphetamine supplier involved in a drug trafficking operation between Akron, Ohio, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During a search of Woods' residence, investigators found approximately 294 grams of methamphetamine. In court, Woods admitted to conspiring to distribute and distributing between 500 grams and 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine over five months.
Assistant United States Attorney Rebecca L. Silinski represented the government in this case.
Acting United States Attorney Rivetti praised Homeland Security Investigations, the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the Pennsylvania State Police for their work in investigating and prosecuting the case against Woods.
