House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer, along with Subcommittee Chairmen Eric Burlison and Nancy Mace, expressed support for President Trump's newly announced Action Plan aimed at securing U.S. dominance in artificial intelligence (AI). The White House introduced "Winning the AI Race: America's AI Action Plan," which outlines over 90 federal policy initiatives focusing on innovation, infrastructure, and global leadership.
"President Trump’s bold leadership has once again delivered a transformative vision for America’s future in artificial intelligence," said Chairman James Comer. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a technological edge as a priority for the future.
Subcommittee Chair Eric Burlison highlighted the plan's focus on eliminating bureaucratic barriers to AI progress. "America has the talent, expertise, and resources to lead the world in AI," he stated.
Chairwoman Nancy Mace noted that reshaping regulatory frameworks and investing in infrastructure are critical steps towards winning the AI race. She stressed the need for government tools to responsibly deploy AI technology.
