The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) has expressed approval following the House's passage of the fiscal year 2026 defense appropriations bill. Eric Fanning, President and CEO of AIA, emphasized the importance of timely and adequate funding for national defense to deter adversaries and support military capabilities.

Fanning said, "On-time and sufficient appropriations for our national defense are essential to deterring our adversaries, equipping our military, and building our defense industrial base." He noted that the vote encourages industry innovation to stay ahead of threats.

Despite this progress, Fanning voiced concerns about the funding level. "As threats persist, we remain concerned that the topline, although it matches the President’s budget request, does not match the threat level," he said. The AIA is advocating for increased funding as Congress continues with the FY26 appropriations process.

Fanning concluded by expressing a desire for ongoing collaboration with Congress to finalize the law before the fiscal year concludes.
