The AI Action Plan has been described as a call for a new industrial renaissance. The strategy aims to build significant domestic compute infrastructure, including expanding energy capacity, constructing data centers, and increasing domestic advanced semiconductor manufacturing. It also emphasizes that American AI technology should be developed without ideological bias and ensure benefits for working families.
"The AI Action Plan is a call for a new industrial renaissance, an ambitious strategy that the Administration should be commended for leading," states the release. "It charts the course for building significant domestic compute infrastructure—from expanding energy capacity, to constructing data centers and increasing domestic advanced semiconductor manufacturing. At the same time, the plan also emphasizes that American AI technology must be developed free of ideological bias, and ensure working families are benefited and not left behind."
The action plan is built on three pillars: accelerating innovation, building AI infrastructure, and leading international diplomacy and security. In his first six months in office, President Trump has signed multiple executive orders aimed at removing obstacles to AI innovation and education.
For years, The Heritage Foundation has advocated for U.S. leadership in AI development by promoting freer access to these tools while ensuring safety and security.
"We look forward to supporting the administration's work to align this technology with human flourishing," concludes the statement.
