A Three Forks resident, Anthony Robert Catalusci, 65, has been sentenced to 63 months in federal prison and five years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Donald W. Molloy after Catalusci pleaded guilty in March 2025.

According to court documents, the Missouri River Drug Task Force began investigating drug distribution activities involving Catalusci as early as 2021 in Gallatin County, Montana. On April 6, 2021, a confidential informant purchased 11 grams of methamphetamine from Catalusci for $500. Further investigations revealed that a co-conspirator sold methamphetamine supplied by “Tony,” later identified as Catalusci, on three occasions in April 2024.

Investigators also interviewed an individual who reported that an Italian man named “Tony” from Clarkston, Montana had asked him to travel to Las Vegas to collect packages of methamphetamine. Additionally, recordings from another drug transaction captured a dealer stating that his supply came from “Tony,” confirming again that the supplier was Anthony Catalusci.

In September 2024, law enforcement searched Catalusci’s residence and found a small amount of methamphetamine. During the search, Catalusci admitted to distributing the drug.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case following an investigation led by the Missouri River Drug Task Force.

U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme commented: "This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence, and to make our neighborhoods safer for everyone. On May 26, 2021, the Department launched a violent crime reduction strategy strengthening PSN based on these core principles: fostering trust and legitimacy in our communities, supporting community-based organizations that help prevent violence from occurring in the first place, setting focused and strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring the results.
