ITI has announced the addition of Noah Barger and Stephanie Mertz Patel to its government affairs team. Both bring extensive experience from Capitol Hill to their new roles as Directors of Government Affairs. Their presence is expected to enhance ITI's efforts in advocating for policies that support innovation and growth within the tech industry.
ITI Executive Vice President of Government Affairs, Julia Massimino, expressed enthusiasm about the new appointments. "I am thrilled to welcome Noah and Stephanie to ITI’s growing government affairs team," she said. "After our expansion into state legislative work at the start of the year, it was time to reinforce our resources on the Hill, and we’re fortunate to have them join us at a time when technology policy is top of mind across all corners of U.S. government."
Barger previously served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to Chairman Mike Bost, focusing on trade and transportation policy. He also contributed to trade and tariff matters for the Congressional Steel Caucus during Rep. Bost’s tenure as co-chair.
Mertz Patel comes from her role as a Professional Staff Member on the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation under Chairman Ted Cruz. She worked on various issues including tech, content moderation, manufacturing, and cybersecurity.
Both individuals are expected to play key roles in advancing ITI's agenda on critical issues such as AI, energy, trade, cybersecurity, economic security, supply chain management, high-skilled immigration, and workforce policy.
