United States congratulates Côte d’Ivoire on its 65th National Day

The United States has extended greetings to Côte d’Ivoire on the occasion of its 65th National Day. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken conveyed his message to President Alassane Ouattara and the people of Côte d’Ivoire.

“The U.S. partnership with Côte d’Ivoire – rooted in our shared desire for freedom, democracy, economic prosperity, and security – is stronger today than ever before.  We commend Côte d’Ivoire for its steadfast leadership in West Africa and across the African continent,” said Blinken.

He added, “The United States looks forward to deepening our many ties with the Ivoirian people in the year ahead.  May you have a safe and prosperous National Day.”

Côte d’Ivoire marks this anniversary amid ongoing cooperation with the United States on regional stability, development, and democratic governance.
