U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has released its operational statistics for July 2025, reporting what the agency describes as a historic performance in border security and enforcement. For the third consecutive month, no illegal aliens were released into the country, according to CBP.

“History made, again. The numbers don’t lie—this is the most secure the border has ever been. President Donald J. Trump didn’t just manage the crisis—he obliterated it. No more excuses. No more releases. We’ve put the cartels on defense and taken our border back,” said Secretary Kristi Noem.

CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott stated, “CBP shut down illegal crossings again this month, setting enforcement records and collecting billions in tariffs. This is what making America great and safe again looks like.”

The agency reported that illegal crossings in July dropped to their lowest level ever recorded, representing only a fraction of those seen under the previous administration.

In addition to its efforts at curbing illegal entries, CBP seized 968 pounds of fentanyl during July—a 30% increase compared to June figures. The agency emphasized its role as the largest law enforcement organization in the United States and highlighted its capacity to intercept illicit drugs before they reach communities.

CBP also reported ongoing work enforcing U.S. trade law at the border, including implementing 25 presidential tariff actions directed by the Trump administration since January 20, 2025. The agency cited activities such as audits, targeting efforts, and frontline import reviews as part of its approach to safeguarding economic sovereignty.

According to CBP, these measures support both national security and economic prosperity through innovation and collaboration among its workforce of over 65,000 personnel operating across land, air, and sea domains.
