William Joseph Russell, 51, from Clarksburg, West Virginia, has pleaded guilty to distributing fentanyl and p-Fluorofentanyl in Harrison County. According to court documents, Russell was involved in selling these substances locally.
Russell could be sentenced to a minimum of one year and up to 40 years in federal prison. The final sentence will be determined by a federal district court judge after taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney William Rhee. The Greater Harrison Drug Task Force, which operates as part of a HIDTA-funded initiative, conducted the investigation into the case.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi presided over the proceedings.
