The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has launched a new advertising campaign across radio, digital platforms, and billboards in several states. The ads express gratitude to Congress for making the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction permanent, an action that NFIB says prevents a significant tax increase for small business owners.
The campaign is part of NFIB’s ongoing advocacy work supporting the Small Business Deduction. The advertisements thank lawmakers for their vote and highlight the impact on small businesses nationwide.
Brad Close, president of NFIB, stated, “For years, NFIB’s members have spoken out about the importance of making the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction permanent. The White House and Congress took action and provided America’s small businesses a massive economic shot in the arm, allowing them to keep more of their hard-earned money in their businesses and their communities. This huge victory is the direct result of the broad support small businesses have in Washington and the tireless advocacy of small businesses all across America. By making the deduction permanent, Congress has stopped a massive tax hike on Main Street and given America’s small businesses the certainty they need to invest, grow, and give back to their communities.”
The 20% Small Business Tax Deduction was initially introduced as part of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. It allows qualifying small business owners to deduct up to 20% of their business income from taxes. This measure is intended to help smaller firms compete with larger corporations.
NFIB has represented independent business owners for over eight decades at both federal and state levels. The organization describes itself as nonprofit, nonpartisan, member-driven, and dedicated exclusively to advocating for small and independent businesses since its founding in 1943.
