A former employee of Philadelphia International Airport has pleaded guilty to a security violation, according to an announcement from United States Attorney David Metcalf. Tiriq Henson, 33, of Philadelphia, entered the plea before United States District Judge Gail A. Weilheimer on one count of entering an airport area in violation of security requirements.
Henson was charged by information in May 2025. According to court filings, on March 9, 2024, while working as a wheelchair assistant at the airport, Henson aided and abetted another individual identified as Person #1 by allowing that person to use his airport-issued Secure Identification Display Area badge. This allowed Person #1 to access secure and sterile areas of the airport without proper authorization.
Henson is scheduled for sentencing on December 16 and could face up to ten years in prison.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Priya De Souza is prosecuting the case.
