The United States has extended its congratulations to the people of Tajikistan as the country marks 34 years of independence on September 9. In a statement, the U.S. government emphasized its ongoing support for Tajikistan’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

"The United States is firmly committed to supporting Tajikistan’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. In the more than three decades of Tajikistan’s independence, we have made significant progress together across a wide array of important bilateral and regional issues, including celebrating ten years of engagement through the C5+1 diplomatic platform. We look forward to strengthening our partnership in the year ahead to further enhance economic cooperation and address our shared security interests in the region," read the message.

U.S. officials also noted that both countries have worked together over three decades on various bilateral and regional matters. The statement highlighted a decade of cooperation within the C5+1 diplomatic platform—a forum that brings together Central Asian states and the United States for dialogue on key issues.

"We extend our congratulations to the people of Tajikistan on this momentous day," concluded the statement.
