Following this, Landau will travel to Papua New Guinea where he will attend events celebrating the country’s 50th anniversary of independence and participate in a U.S.-Pacific Islands Forum Roundtable with Pacific Island leaders. His final stop will be in the Republic of the Marshall Islands to reinforce ties with this Compact of Free Association partner.

According to the U.S. Department of State, “Deputy Secretary Landau will focus on fostering collaboration, enhancing security, and deepening economic ties, reflecting the United States’ dedication to a free, open, and prosperous Indo-Pacific.”

The visit is part of broader efforts by the United States government to strengthen its relationships throughout Asia and the Pacific Islands.
