A federal grand jury in Boston has indicted Cesar Pena Pimental, a 29-year-old Dominican national, on charges of forcibly resisting federal officers during an immigration arrest. The indictment alleges that on June 6, 2025, Pena Pimental assaulted and interfered with agents who were performing their official duties.
Pena Pimental faces one count of forcibly assaulting, resisting, opposing, impeding, intimidating, or interfering with federal officers engaged in the performance of official duties. If convicted, he could face up to eight years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000. Following any sentence imposed by the court, he will be subject to deportation. Sentencing decisions are made by a federal district court judge according to the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and relevant statutes.
United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Michael J. Krol, Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations in New England announced the indictment. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexandra W. Amrhein from the Major Crimes Unit is prosecuting the case.
